Digital and Events Assistant - Livingston Designer Outlet, Edinburgh

Purpose of the Role
Livingston Designer Outlet is seeking a creative and ambitious Digital & Events Assistant to join the team. Reporting directly to the Brand Manager, you will be responsible for producing engaging digital content, supporting onsite events, and building strong relationships with our retail partners.
This entry-level position is designed for a graduate looking to begin a career in content creation, events, and retail analytics. You’ll gain hands-on experience in digital media, community engagement, and performance reporting within a busy retail destination environment.
Key Responsibilities
Digital Content & Social Media
· Create engaging content (photo, video, graphics) for Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
· Use tools such as CapCut and Canva to produce high-quality, creative assets.
· Monitor online activity, respond to customer messages, and support community engagement.
· Analyse performance of social media content using Sprout Social, producing regular reports to share insights.
Website & Email Content Support
· Assist with keeping the Livingston Designer Outlet website up to date with latest offers, events, and news.
· Support in drafting and scheduling e-newsletters to engage the customer database.
Photography & Videography
· Capture high-quality images and short videos of store products, events, and onsite activity.
· Build and maintain an organised content library for use across digital channels.
Community & PR Support
· Assist with local community partnerships and outreach activities, including schools, charities, and local groups.
· Gather stories, images, and updates for potential use in press releases and stakeholder communications.
Data & Insights
· Use Retail Advantage and other onsite tools to track trading patterns and retail performance.
· Support the Brand Manager in interpreting data to guide digital and event activity.
Event Support
· Assist in the planning and delivery of onsite events and campaigns.
· Create content to promote events before, during, and after activity.
· Provide hands-on support during events, including occasional weekend work, only when required by the business.
Collaboration & Relationships
· Build strong relationships with retail stores to understand how they can be best supported.
· Work closely with store teams to highlight products, offers, and initiatives across digital platforms.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
· Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, and audience engagement.
· Confident using digital content tools (e.g., CapCut, Canva; Adobe Creative Suite desirable).
· Interest in photography, videography, and content storytelling.
· Analytical mindset with an interest in interpreting data and creating reports.
· Highly organised with strong multitasking skills and attention to detail.
· Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
· A proactive, creative, and collaborative team player.
· Flexibility to occasionally support weekend events, when required.
Working Hours - 37.5 hours per week (Monday–Friday, 9:00–17:30, with occasional weekend work if required to support events or business activity)
Salary - £24,000
