Environmental Services Team Leader - Chantry Place, Norwich

Purpose of the Role

The purpose of the environmental services team leader role is to manage our team members to clean the common areas safely and efficiently including deep cleaning outside of trading hours to specified standards.
You will be expected to present a professional, friendly image at all times. You will have the ability to work both alongside the team and motivate to achieve shared objectives. You will be capable of carrying out your duties without constant supervision and be proactive in ensuring your team meets the highest possible standards of cleanliness and safety.
Whilst it would be ideal for you to have previous experience within a commercial cleaning role, we will provide
full and ongoing training to all our staff.
Key Responsibilities
· To ensure all Health & Safety policies and procedures are always adhered to
· A natural leader who has a “hands-on” approach and leads the team by example
· You will be one of our Customer Service ambassadors, providing world class service to all customers, retailers and contractors.
· Training new hires, coaching team members and supporting development by monitoring progress, giving feedback and managing performance to meet goals.
· Address challenges and mediate conflict
· Ensure the centre is kept to a high standard of cleanliness. This includes all FOH, BOH and external areas, within our perimeter
· To conduct daily audits to improve overall standards throughout the entire centre
· Ensure all periodic cleaning is managed, organised and completed each day, schedule any adhoc works that also need completing and communicate with other colleagues to complete required tasks.
· Schedule and undertake when required high level cleaning.
· To support the manager in operational delivery
· Manage staff sickness by allocating resources effectively and be flexible within your role to support any business needs
· To manage consumables and stock, promoting “treat every penny as your own” ethos
· Motivate and monitor the team to achieve the highest possible standards of service delivery
· To conduct disciplinary investigations giving recommendations, and to performance manage the team, as required
· To implement waste solutions and optimise all waste streams. You must ensure the service yard is well managed, organised and cleaned to a high standard
· To ensure all equipment/ machinery is in good working order and is being used correctly. To report any faults to manager to ensure repairs are completed
· Implement a safe working standard in accordance with the relevant H&S regulations
· Work with other departments to assist with operational delivery, ensuring that there is a clear open channel between your team members and other depts.
· To carry out any other reasonable request by the management team.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Candidates will be required to demonstrate the following:
Essential
· Successful track record of delivering cleaning standards and waste solutions
· Excellent leadership and motivational skills
· Ability to deliver and coach World Class service
· Proven record of team leadership (+10 people)
· Knowledge of cleaning equipment and machines
· Capability to work under pressure in a fast-paced changing environment
· Excellent written and verbal communication
Desirable
· Cleaning qualifications (BICs)
· IOSH or NEBOSH qualification
· Machinery/ vehicle qualifications (Driver license, Forklift, IPAF)
· Knowledge of environmental practices and recycling methods
Working Hours - 40 hours, 5 shifts on, 3 shifts off 8am – 5pm
Salary - £29,327
