Fire & Safety Officer - Harlequin Watford

Purpose of the Role
Coordination of fire and health & safety requirements for the centre through the various departments, the tenants and the tenants’ contractors. Maintaining compliance with all relevant H&S and Fire Safety legislation, British Standards and company policy and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
· Completion of Fire Safety & Health & Safety audits of tenants’ demises and compliance inspections of landlord’s areas,
· Supporting tenants to help find solutions that manage risk, but also allow the operation to continue and commercial activities to proceed.
· Producing reports and analysis of H&S data including incident reporting, accidents, permits and permissions.
· Tracking of actions of the above and other sources to resolve nonconformance with legislation, British Standards and company policy and procedures.
· Management of the sites permit to work systems via C-Tracker platform
· Investigate any accidents or incidents in line with site procedures
· Support with fire safety, life safety, emergency procedure and other Health & Safety training to the centre teams on a regular basis to ensure compliance with statutory and policy requirements.
· Processing of insurance claims
· Coordinating and reporting on site evacuation events and drills
· Provide administrative support to the site operations team on H&S and fire safety compliance via the Data Station and Concept systems.
· Ensure the centre is compliant by completing regular monitoring inspections and act on any issues
The above is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by the overall business objectives of the organisation.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Essential:
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and able to effectively communicate with staff, tenants and contractors.
· Strong relationship management skills with the ability quickly develop repour with internal and external partners.
· Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative without ongoing direct supervision.
· Excellent organisational and time management skills and able to meet tight deadlines.
· Capable of managing change quickly and efficiently whilst maintaining legal compliance.
· Ability to work well with others, make clear decisions and continue to deliver results under pressure.
· Analytical mind who can review statistics and report relevant information.
· IOSH Managing Safety qualification.
Desirable:
· Previous experience in fire safety and H&S management
· Willingness to complete a NEBOSH qualification.
Working Hours - Mon – Fri 0830-1700
Salary - £35,000
