Physical Security and CCTV Compliance Consultant - London/South East UK

Purpose of the Role
The purpose of this role is to deliver CCTV operational and GDPR compliance audits across Savills managed properties throughout London and the South East, ensuring that Video Surveillance Systems (VSS) are operated in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018, UK GDPR and the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) Surveillance Camera Code of Practice.
In addition to compliance auditing, the role involves undertaking physical security Threat, Risk and Vulnerability Assessments (TRVAs) across corporate, commercial, retail, leisure and residential properties to evaluate the effectiveness of existing security arrangements.
The position supports clients in understanding and managing physical security risks affecting their assets and operations, providing professional security consultancy services across the built environment. The role contributes to the continued development and delivery of Savills’ specialist physical security consultancy services within the property management sector.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering CCTV operational and GDPR compliance audits across Savills managed properties throughout London and the South East to assess whether CCTV systems are operated lawfully and proportionately in accordance with applicable legislation and regulatory guidance.
Audits will include the review of key areas of CCTV governance and operation including ICO registration, data controller responsibilities, camera deployment and coverage, CCTV signage, data retention arrangements, access to recorded footage, subject access request procedures, operational management processes, staff training, control room access arrangements and system maintenance standards.
Prepare professional CCTV Compliance Audit Reports identifying areas of compliance and providing clear recommendations where improvements are required.
Additionally the role will require the completion of physical security Threat, Risk and Vulnerability Assessments (TRVAs) across commercial, retail and residential properties to evaluate the effectiveness of existing security measures including,
Assess security systems and operational arrangements including Video Surveillance Systems (VSS), Access Control Systems (ACS), perimeter protection, hostile vehicle mitigation measures, security guarding operations, intruder detection systems and building access management procedures.
Identify vulnerabilities affecting client properties and develop risk-based recommendations to strengthen security arrangements appropriate to the operational environment and threat profile of each site.
Support the delivery of broader security consultancy services including Security Needs Assessments, Security Risk Assessments, Security Strategy development and Security Master Planning for new and existing properties.
Assist clients in understanding security risks affecting their assets and developing proportionate strategies to protect people, property and operations across commercial, retail and residential environments.
Prepare clear, structured and professional written reports outlining security risks, existing control measures and recommended improvements.
Communicate technical security findings and compliance requirements effectively to property managers, asset managers and other operational stakeholders to support informed decision making.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience within a physical security auditing or security consultancy role, with a strong understanding of CCTV compliance, data protection considerations and risk-based security assessment within the built environment.
A working knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance is required, including UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) guidance and relevant British Standards relating to CCTV systems and security management.
Experience undertaking CCTV compliance audits, security risk assessments and Threat, Risk and Vulnerability Assessments (TRVAs) within commercial, retail or residential property environments is highly desirable. Experience advising on security design principles, security strategy development and risk management within the built environment would also be beneficial.
The role requires strong analytical and report writing skills, with the ability to produce clear, structured and professional client-facing reports and communicate technical security and compliance matters to a range of stakeholders.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a professional and client-focused approach, with sound professional judgement, attention to detail and the ability to translate assessment findings into practical and proportionate security recommendations.
A proactive, flexible and commercially aware approach is required, together with the ability to manage competing priorities across a geographically dispersed property portfolio and work both independently and as part of a wider consultancy team.
Additional Requirements
A full UK driving licence is required and the role will involve regular travel across the London and South East portfolio, with occasional wider UK travel including overnight stays where required.
The successful candidate will be subject to appropriate pre-employment screening and background checks in line with relevant industry standards and will be expected to comply with Savills policies and procedures.
Working Hours - Mon to Fri 37.5 hrs
Home Based with a portfolio covering London and Southeast UK, with occasional UK wide travel
