Assistant Fabric Manager - Kings Cross Estate

Purpose of the Role

To enhance the investment value of the Estate for the landlord by delivering the highest standards of fabric services practicable within budget and physical constraints.
To ensure the visitor experience on the Estate is of the highest possible standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting the Senior Fabric Manager with frequent and open communication and flow of information on relevant building & estate issues.
- Covering Senior Fabric Manager’s periods of absence from the office.
- Managing Fabric projects.
- Managing service partner for reactive works, Pre Planned Maintenance.
- To undertake physical inspections, with the support of the KCES team, arrange repairs to the Estate.
- Coordinate the input of internal resources for reactive and planned maintenance on the estate.
- Review permit requests and associated Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
- To procure, supervise and manage all fabric service contracts that may be required for the Estate in accordance with KCES best practice, policies and procedures.
- Ensure, as far as reasonably practical, the health & safety of all occupiers, visitors, members of the public and the management team when on the Estate areas, ensuring that emergency procedures and safe working practices are established and maintained.
- Inspect completed works to ensure they are finished to a high standard in timely and cost-effective manner.
- Attending occupier meetings ensuring minutes and notes are documented to a high standard and actions are completed within a timely manner.
- Work with the service partners and other Savills colleagues who may interact with the occupiers to ensure a consistent approach to communication is used.
- Actively engage with the wider Savills property team to ensure that we stay abreast of industry trends, drive innovation and operational excellence across the estate.
- Ensure that good relations with all key stakeholders are established and maintained.
- Assist with the production of relevant fabric elements of the annual estate service charge budget and management accounts, taking overall ownership of the Estate & Building budgets.
- Support the Fabric manager with ensuring that the sustainability ESG agenda is fully embraced by the team and that they are fully aware of the drivers for change.
- Be abreast of any new initiatives, which could improve ESG performance across the estate.
- Work with the site team to support the client’s events and community programmes.
- Ensure a methodical, measured approach is promoted and encouraged throughout the team when resolving issues.
- Support the KCES team maintaining the highest standards of service delivery encompassing innovation, sustainability, and customer focus.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Knowledge of Fabric related trades including stonemasonry, decoration, carpentry, metal works, glazing, street furniture repairs and refurbishments, preferably having qualifications in one of these trades and / or can professionally undertake the Fabric works personally
- Experience in contractor management
- Have knowledge and experience with regard to work permits
- Excellent communication and relationship builder
- Positive can-do attitude
- Qualification of IOSH desirable

Working Hours - 09:00 – 17:30 Five days a week. Mainly Monday to Friday but some flexibility expected. This is a site-based role.
Salary - £50k
