Purpose of the Role

The purpose of the environmental services assistant role is to work with other team members to clean the common areas safely and efficiently.

As an Environmental Services Assistant – Nights within the Environmental Services Department of the business you will work with other team member’s out of trading hours to clean the Centre (10pm – 6am), on a rota basis. You will be expected to operate cleaning machines after training and always present a professional manner. You will be expected to have good organisational skills and the ability to identify and rectify areas that require attention. You will have the ability to work both individually and as part of a team. You should be capable of carrying out your duties without constant supervision and be proactive in ensuring your area of responsibility meets the highest possible standards of cleanliness and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure cleanliness of common areas and toilet blocks to the required standards
• Use cleaning chemicals safely as detailed by the Control of Substance Hazardous to Health guidelines (COSHH)
• Ensure that all cleaning stores are kept clean, tidy, and ensuring equipment is always stored correctly and safely
• Comply with all security regulations for cleaning materials, equipment, and buildings as per site guidelines
• Ensure all cleaning equipment is kept clean and maintained in safe working order
• Comply with all company policies and statutory regulations including Health and Safety working practices, hygiene, cleanliness, fire safety and COSHH
• Use of cleaning machines once training has been completed
• Any other reasonable task requested by a member of the supervisory/management team

Essential

• Use cleaning chemicals safely as detailed by the Control of Substance Hazardous to Health guidelines (COSHH)
• Ensure that all cleaning stores are kept clean, tidy, and ensuring equipment is always stored correctly and safely
• Comply with all security regulations for cleaning materials, equipment, and buildings as per site guidelines
• Comply with all company policies and statutory regulations including Health and Safety working practices, hygiene, cleanliness
• Willingness to partake in further on-site training.
• Excellent Customer Care Skills
• Training will be given

Desirable

• Basic Knowledge of H&S legislation.
• Flexible working approach to work patterns.
• Full UK driving license

Working Hours - 6 month FTC. 30 hours per week, (including weekends) (4 x 7.5hrs shifts) 

Salary - £12.21 Per Hour + Night Allowance
