Purpose of the Role

Recycling and cleaning of Waste Management, and housekeeping of Service Yard and Back Of House areas.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct the daily checks throughout all machinery

Litter Pick

Clean bays and refuse areas

Clean pedestrian pathways and roadway

Empty all bins

Clean signage

Clean spillages

Sweep around and inside the Compactors

Clean pigeon mess in the basement when necessary

Remove high level dust and cobweb

Sweep all areas alongside docks and bins room

Collect blue and white pallets

Clean Oil/Diesel spillages

Segregating Poly Wrapping

Segregating Cardboard

Segregating Paper

Segregating Light Tubes

Segregating Batteries

Segregating Electrical Waste

Segregating Paint Tins

Segregating Printer Cartridges

Segregating Wood

Segregating Metal

Segregating DMR

Segregating Food Waste

Segregating Glass

Segregating Hard Plastic

Clean and wash any leek coming from compactors (avoiding smells and parasites)

Sweep all basement roads and docks using 414 Green Machine

Wash all bins

Scrub and Jet wash all basement area

Every basement cleaner has specific (Dock) area of responsibility for the day which is designated on the roster.

The basement cleaners must check their areas and roster daily.

The initial segregation to be done inside the Room Areas, separating the recyclables from the general waste

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Candidates will be required to demonstrate the following:

Essential

• Experience in the provision of cleaning services in a busy environment visited by members of the public.
• Able to demonstrate a good level of customer service.
• Body fluids trained.
• Ability to work on own initiative and deal with demanding situations.
• Honest and reliable work ethic.
• Well presented.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Able to work in both/internal and external environments.
• Willingness to partake in further on-site training.

Desirable

• Basic Knowledge of H&S legislation.
• Flexible working approach to work patterns.

Working Hours - 42hrs 

Salary - £13.61/hr
