Security Supervisor - Broadway Plaza

Purpose of the Role
This role is for a working Security Supervisor. The will involved you in carrying out normal Security duties as well as Supervising the Security Team.
The role of the Security Supervisor is to Supervise the on-shift Security team to ensure the overall safety of the centre and supporting the Soft Services Manager and Centre Management in ensuring that the Centre is a safe and pleasant environment for our customers at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Days and Nights position Security Supervisor position.
- Supporting the Soft Services Manager in achieving the Centre’s aims and objectives for Security.
- Ensure the Security Operatives are performing their duties to the appropriate standard.
- Ensure all daily, weekly and monthly security task/paperwork are complete to a high standard.
- Provide feedback on the performance of the Security operatives to Centre Management.
- Provide ongoing support, guidance and training to Security operatives, advising them of how to improve their performance where required and coach them when needed.
- Undertake all other duties consistent with the nature and grade of the post as necessary or required.
- Ensure all aspects of health and safety are followed, in particular those identified within the personnel and procedures manual.
- Assist in the evacuation of the Centre in an emergency in accordance with the Centre’s evacuation plan.
- Respond to emergencies, alarms, and incidents, and document all activities appropriately.
- Support the implementation of specific Security requirements for events or prior to attendance of any VIPs to the Centre.
- Reporting any maintenance or health and safety issues to the Centre Management team that may be seen when working on site.
- Ensure rosters are kept up to date with over time or Absences.
- Train new security officers and provide ongoing training to existing staff.
- Provide leadership and support to maintain a safe and professional working environment.
- You will be working alongside the Soft Services Manager to gain hands-on experience, learn various aspects of the role, and develop the necessary skills to prepare you for applying for the position in the future.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Experience in the provision of Security services in a busy Entertainment centre environment.
- Be able to demonstrate previous experience in working as a supervisor/manager role with in a busy Entertainment centre.
- Ability to demonstrate excellent levels of customer service at all times and be able to communicate well at all levels.
- Ability to work on own initiative and deal with demanding situations when they arise.
- To always deliver the highest level of personal behaviour, in line with the company’s standards.
- Honest and reliable work ethic and well presented at all times.
- Willingness to partake in on-site training for emergency procedures.
- Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to adopt a flexible approach to work patterns and work weekends/evenings as and when required.
- Willingness to undertake additional training and career development.
- Accurate record keeping with good attention to detail.
- Lead and develop the team in line with the competency framework and company values.
- Support the team, taking responsibility for training and development and maintenance of expectations.
- Produce and record information to contribute to the performance monitoring process, routine area checks and audits
- Re-schedule work and rotas to meet fluctuations in staffing levels and customer requests.
- Comply with the requirements of Policies and Procedures, the Health and Safety at Work Act and emergency procedures as required.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Required
- Good Knowledge of COSHH
- Previous security and people management experience
- Health & Safety and manual handling within a Security environment
- Must have valid DS licence.
- Must have valid CCTV licence.
- Must have 2 years or more experience as a security officer.
- Must have 1 year or more experience at a CCTV operator.
- Preferred candidate to have First Aid certificate but not essential.
- Must be willing to work nights.
Desirable
- Security experience within a Shopping/Entertainment Centre.
- Ability to use full range of Microsoft applications inc. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Basic knowledge of H&S legislation.
- First Aid at Work
- Disciplinary and Investigation training
- Excellent knowledge of security procedures and surveillance equipment.
Working Hours -42 hours per week, 4 on, 4 off shift pattern
Salary - £14.28/hr
