Purpose of the Role

Role: Typically includes cleaning duties and specifically waste movements following the any site segregation protocols and taking all waste to the designated waste storage area(s)

Cleaning may include: (this list is not exhaustive)

· Cleaning to be refined but

i. It will evolve and therefore is deemed not exhaustive.

ii. Deal with the waste collections. The time set is 05:30 to 09:30 Monday to Friday and we have been informed that there have been occasions when the waste collection suppliers have run beyond these times. 1100L bins to be taken from the carpark up in the lifts and the waste provider will let site know when they arrive and the operative waits the whilst they are emptied and then returns them to the carpark.

iii. In these instances IF this were to be the case it could be the position that the operative places the bins in the lift in preparation for the collection but this will result in the need for someone to then press the lift to the ground floor, the waste supplier wheel them out and empty and then they are brought back to the carpark which should be easier as they will be empty.

iv. We will look to give our operatives contact details as if the waste supplier is late they can be contacted to attend any time during the shift allotted.

v. Balcony – check daily and sweep any debris accordingly if required

vi. Front steps from ground to basement – check daily and sweep any debris accordingly if required.

vii. Car Park – Litter pick daily – full sweep weekly if required.

viii. Clean and Buff front entrance black doors x 2 Daily (smear free)

ix. Mop Front steps – If inclement weather and or freezing temperatures cease operation

x. Clean Showers 1 x per week (this is likely to be extended to daily as and when directed by the client)

xi. Check staircases daily for debris and dust to assist in monitoring and report to the supervisor any issues.

xii. When the vax carpet machine arrives spot clean stains on carpets (require O&Ms for rugs so initially this is for the staircases only)

xiii. Take the fruit up to the 4th floor when it arrives to assist the HK team who will then distribute.

xiv. Undertake coffee cleaning duties - client to define and then the HK will train

xv. Check and polish brass on main staircases, push plates and door handles

Waste will include:

· Placing waste in the appropriate waste stream

· Cardboard collections

· Recycling and other waste (non hazardous)

This list is not exhaustive but example of tasks by schedule

Key Responsibilities

· Ability to work on your own in the cleaning tasks as inducted and trained upon.

· Understanding the H&S requirements to ensure you and others entering your work area are safe at all times.

· Timekeeping the hours are fixed

· To undertake cleaning duties in areas as directed by the Site

· To report maintenance issues immediately, e.g. broken equipment, defective lighting any H&S issues

· To be inform the Site Manager or any ordering and maintaining cleaning equipment stock.

· To clean and maintain communal areas within the site, including cleaning surfaces and vacuuming and dusting of surfaces, external area sweeping and mopping as required

· To have an understanding and comply with all COSHH regulations.

· To work within the relevant legislation, policies and procedures. ·

· To attend training courses as identified and agreed for appropriate development.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

· Previous experience in a similar environment would be advantageous

Working Hours - Part-time, 4 hours per day Mon-Fri, 20hours per week.

Salary - £13.85 per hour - £277 per week = £14,404.00 PA
